Philippines Mahi Curtain Wall Project Case Study
Philippines Mahi Curtain Wall Project Case Study Project Overview The Mahi project is located in the Philippines. And it is a mixed-use development consisting of
Project Name: Guyana CJIA Airport Expansion
Location: Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Guyana
Facade System: Exposed Frame Curtain Wall with Aluminum Veneer Cladding
Facade Area: 6,448 square meters
Scope: Design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of curtain wall systems
The structural strength of the exposed frame curtain walls are combined with a sleek, modern design. And they are seamlessly integrated with the aluminum cladding for a polished finish. The addition of aluminum veneer also guaranteed the durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions.
In this project, the exposed frame curtain wall included 1.2885 m² units fitted with 8+1.52+8+12A+10 mm blue-grey Low-E laminated insulated glass. The aluminum profiles were finished with fluorocarbon coating on the exterior visible surface and powder coating on the interior, combining durability with a refined appearance. Another 3.35 m² of curtain wall sections adopted 6+1.52+6 mm transparent laminated safety glass, which provides both structural strength and clear visibility. For the perimeter treatment, 2.3528 m² of aluminum veneer panels were applied, functioning as edge closures while also serving as decorative accents that complete the facade design.
The advanced glazing and high-performance coatings can improve thermal insulation and reduce solar heat gain.
The curtain wall has supported the energy efficiency and environmental responsibility and helped the airport minimize its carbon footprint.
SUNFRAME’s engineering team developed a high-performance curtain wall system tailored to the airport’s coastal environment.
The glass and cladding package was selected to deliver exceptional performance while accentuating the terminal’s contemporary aesthetic:
☞ Low-E Insulated Glass – Minimizes solar heat gain yet floods the terminal with natural daylight, creating a bright and comfortable environment.
☞ Laminated Safety Glass – Reinforces high-traffic areas with superior strength and impact resistance, enhancing passenger safety.
☞ Aluminum Veneer Panels – Frame transitions and edge details with precision, doubling as protective closures and decorative caps that seamlessly tie the façade together.
☞ Surface Finishes – Exterior fluorocarbon coating withstands the harsh coastal climate, while interior powder coating preserves a smooth, refined appearance.
☞ Fabrication: The curtain walls and aluminum veneers were precisely engineered at SUNFRAME’s advanced production facilities. This ensures the top-tier quality and consistency.
☞ Installation: The installation was executed efficiently to meet strict deadlines. Meanwhile. It can maintain the seamless alignment with the building’s structural framework.
☞ On-Time Delivery: SUNFRAME has completed this facade project within the project’s tight schedule and taken an important part in supporting the airport’s expansion plans.
☞ Built to Last: The curtain wall system is durable, even in challenging coastal climates.
☞ Energy-Saving Performance: The design makes the cooling demands less, which has contributed to the airport’s sustainability goals.
The Guyana CJIA Airport Expansion showcases SUNFRAME’s capability in providing innovative, high -performance facade solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects. The project seamlessly integrates aesthetic design, exceptional durability, and energy efficiency. And all of these has fully demonstrated SUNFRAME’s expertise and outstanding execution in the field of curtain wall engineering.
